-         Every Person knowing the job one is doing and what is expected of him.

-         Analyzing the possible dangers/ hazards to man and machine.

-         Finding specific measures to eliminate the risks/ hazards.

-         Having proper communication systems between all team members and supervisors..

-         Involvement of all employees in task and safety planning and documenting their feedback.

-         Eliminating risks by taking all necessary precautions and working in a safe manner by following safe operating procedures.

-         Safe work procedures to be constantly reviewed. This is not a one time activity, but an ongoing process.

-         Every incident being shared so that corrective action and training can be given to avoid further incident.

Mechem believes that unless every person on job is involved in planning, the safe work vision can not be successful.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Worker – Abide by all safety rules and regulations. Perform task assigned to him according to approved JSA. Ensure his personal safety and safety of his colleagues working immediately with him. Share feedback among colleagues with regards to any unsafe behaviour, hazard or condition.

Foreman – Monitor work of his group to ensure safety compliance. Engage in pre-work discussion & coordinate with supervisor & Safety supervisor for Safe Working procedure before start of work.

Supervisor – Deploy safety requirements to the field. Monitor all daily work to ensure safety compliance. Engage in pre-work discussion & coordinate with Foremen & Safety supervisor for Safe Working procedure before start of work. Report & give feedback to Project Manager...

Safety Supervisor – Own Construction Safety documentation and reporting system. Own the overall safety of the field installation. Monitor all work as per JSA. Track all safety data. Give safe and unsafe feedback as per OFS. Prepare all work permits as per task.

Project Manager – Perform pre-work planning and detailed analysis to determine what safety processes are required. Identify and arrange resources for performing safe work. Analyze safety incidents, unsafe behaviour and other feedback.

EMPLOYEE SAFETY TRAINING

• Each and every employee is given a general Safety & Safe behaviour induction before induction into the company.
• They are briefed on the company’s individual work related safety expectations from them with regards to themselves and towards their colleagues and company.
• Reinforce that “Safety is everyone’s responsibility” & “Safety begins with you”
• Company’s policies on Safe work and Safety expectations from all from are shared.
• Specific construction work related training is given highlighting key aspects.
• Task related safe working procedures and communication channels info shared.
• Importance of PPE along with their correct use is shared and demonstrated.
• Employees are given details about emergency assembly area, path and procedure.
• Briefing given about Safety feedback system and unsafe behaviour reporting system.
• At the end of the training session, each member is given a Safetytest quiz in order to verify his understanding and commitment towards safe work.
